No more sinks

I talked to the sink people again.

They don’t have anymore sinks like the one i ordered so they offered me a discount of $300 on the one they shipped me.

I told them I would think about it.

This is the sink I ordered:

The light fixture was a groovy orange and the sink was a clear bluish glass that I was planning on lighting with electroluminescent wire.

This is what they thought they were sending me:

other sink
I still didn’t get all the pieces and it’s on the left instead of the right.

The sink and the disembodied head

I called Express Decor today to find out why the sink I ordered almost a year ago is orange and on the left side and missing a mirror. They said they would check to see if they had any of the correct ones and get back to me next week

I asked if they had possibly by mistake sent me a creepy head being held by a dismembered hand and he told me it was the “free gift”.

And here it is:

creepy head
It looks very sad.

Or maybe it is sleeping. It has not started talking yet.

The sink I ordered in November 2005 arrived today

and it’s orange.

It was supposed to be blue.

Here is my presenation so everyone knows what’s wrong with it:

Color = Blue   Color = Orange
Has fab light fixture & a mirror   Has a hideous light fixture and no mirror
Is off-center to the right   Is off-center to the left

There are no good colors in the paint world

So I went to 3 different paint stores and brought my Pantone color swatches and all the painter guys laughed at me when I asked them to match the Club Fizz palette.

It turns out that it’s impossible since they use a base and my colors are super saturated and their world sucks whereas the print world is fabulous.

After a lot of searching around I settled on a brand called C2. It is supposedly the highest pigmented latex paint available. It’s kinda spendy but from what I’ve heard it’s thicker than other paints on the market and extremely easy to work with.

So here are the colors I got:

Stomp for the ceiling
Whiteout for the walls (needs to be white so the cool LED lights reflect whatever of the 64,000 colors I want)
Fetish for the bathroom door
Stargazer for HAL’s room
Fireball for the laundry room door
Halifax for the front door

First coat of primer

Last weekend some friends came over and helped us prime the walls.

This allowed us to test the LED lighting on a white surface and on a dark color swatch on the ceiling–I’m still not sure I really want a dark ceiling, but it would be very club like.
